Andorra Selected premium companies is growing and now stands at 27’s

The number of Andorra Selected companies is growing and now stands at 27, after a second round of assessments in which 11 of the country’s businesses demonstrated the required level of premium service before an international panel.   This evening, Andorra Turisme held a cocktail reception for the scheme’s members, during which they were awarded a plaque to accredit their establishments’ Andorra Selected status.

During the event, the Minister of Trade and Tourism, Jordi Torres Falcó, remarked that “the Andorra Selected scheme enables us to open up new lines of international communication, in order to present our more premium services to the world. These services are aimed at a more discerning clientele and are designed to complement those that already exist”.

With the aim of continuously improving the Principality’s tourism services, and after numerous Andorran businesses expressed their desire to join Andorra Selected, an independent international panel carried out a second round of assessments this summer. As in the first phase, this panel, consisting of representatives from DMCs, the media and the hotel and restaurant sectors, analysed reports from mystery guests and issued their verdict. The candidates were assessed in accordance with the following criteria: exclusivity, uniqueness, personalisation, international brand recognition, language services, high levels of product quality and customer service, internal policies, audit results, and sustainability policies.

At present, a total of seven hotels, seven restaurants, nine shops, two companies offering sports and leisure services and two transport companies form part of the Andorra Selected scheme, which guarantees a premium level of tourism services. The businesses that form part of the scheme are listed on the official website, www.andorraselected.com.

International promotion

The Andorra Selected scheme, which has already been unveiled at a number of specialist trade shows for the premium segment, will also feature at the ILTM trade show in Cannes this December. The scheme has already been taken on a commercial tour of Madrid, London and Paris, where it was presented to various agencies in the premium segment. It has also been promoted during visits to the Principality by representatives of the specialist press and agencies operating in the sector.
